Make an album unlisted

Hello,

I am currently using version 2.1 of the API, and was wondering how I can make an album unlisted.
The code I am using came from the documentation and is as follows:

public bool MakeAlbumPrivate(Album album)
{
    album.Protected = true;
    return album.ChangeSettings();
}

This is returning true so I assume that it is working as intended. When I log into my smugmug account I can see that the album is marked as protected, however after logging out and viewing my page, it still shows up. Is this the correct way to make an album unlisted, or should I be doing something else?

I also noticed that the album has a setting for "Public" or "Unlisted" and doesn't appear to have anything to do with the "Protected" setting.

Thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh,

Protected doesn't make an album hidden, Public does. Use the same function you were using, but replace album.Protected = true ;with album.Public = false;  do the same when you create the album.

  • Protected boolean (<ins>Power & Pro accounts only</ins>)
    Enable right-click protection for the album.
    Default: false

  • Public boolean
    Display the album publicly.
    Default: true
